Celebrating its 50th year, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House is one of interior design’s most celebrated events. Each group of designers is chosen to transform the rooms of a luxury residence, which then opens to the public to benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and its programs for children and teens. For this landmark anniversary in New York, Tamara Feldman unveiled Paraíso Encontrado (Paradise Found). Inspired by Alfonso Cuarón’s 1998 film Great Expectations—a story made more personal as the director collaborated on an early film produced by Feldman’s father—the space reimagines the haunting “Paradiso Perduto” Art Deco mansion into its opposite: a paradise reborn. The room layered deep green tones, cinematic textures, and theatrical details to create a bathroom and vanity that feels like stepping into the film.
